Professor of Practice Gutlove of the Simmons School of Business was a featured lecturer and workshop leader at Harvard Medical School’s annual Leadership Conference for Women in Healthcare, held in Boston in November. Her workshop, “Negotiation Skills and Strategies for Career Success,” helped participants develop and practice their own negotiation voice.
Benjamin R. Cole
Cole, assistant professor of political science and international relations, has a new book due out this summer. In Democratization and the Mischief of Faction, Cole draws on detailed case studies to demonstrate that factionalism is the most powerful predictor of adverse regime change and state failure in emerging democracies—and an existential threat to mature democracies, including the United States. Cole suggests best practices for avoiding the worst “mischief of faction.”
