A popular rite of spring celebrates students and scholarship donors.
More than 70 scholarship donors and 95 students gathered on April 15 for the annual Scholarship Appreciation Brunch, a celebration of generosity and gratitude at which conversations, stories, tears (of joy)—and tissues—abound.
This year’s event, held in the Linda K. Paresky Conference Center, focused on how Simmons is transforming the way students interact with the world and gain a global perspective on their lives and career aspirations. Dean for Student Life Susan Antonelli ’98 served as emcee for a program that featured remarks by President Helen Drinan ’75LS, ’78 SM; Joe Stanley, director of the Center for Global Education; as well as scholarship donor and Honorary Trustee Amy White ’81, senior vice president for institutional advancement.
The featured student speakers were Christina Guerrier ’18 and Rae’Niqua Victorine ’20. Other scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude in three video montages.
